FAQ

Buyer Information

Clear answers before production begins

LUIMAS works with verified business buyers. Final specifications, prices, timing and delivery responsibilities are confirmed in writing for each order.

Orders & pricing

Commercial terms

Who can request a quotation?

LUIMAS serves wholesalers, importers, distributors, retailers and footwear brands. Before a first quotation, we verify the company name, registered address, country, tax or trade-registry number and the authorised contact.

Can I see prices online?

Price ranges are available only to approved B2B buyers. Formal quotations are prepared in USD or EUR, remain valid for 30 days and are based on EXW unless another Incoterms rule is requested.

What are the minimum quantities?

The standard framework is 100 pairs per order, 50 pairs per model and 20 pairs per colour. Certain specialised constructions may begin at 300 pairs. Final quantities must fit the agreed 8, 10 or 12-pair carton plan.

How are sizes allocated?

The general men's size range is EU 40–48. Buyers may choose the size distribution provided that the model, colour and carton requirements are met.

What payment terms apply?

For lower-volume first orders, the usual structure is 30% deposit and 70% before shipment. Confirmed letters of credit, Eximbank-backed structures or another mutually secure method may be agreed for suitable volumes. Open-account terms are not offered.

How long does production take?

For approved orders up to 10,000 pairs, the normal planning reference is approximately 40 days from order confirmation, including the initial material-control period. Larger programmes are scheduled in the written contract.

Product development

Samples, materials and private label

Which products do you produce?

Our regular men's programme covers comfort and casual shoes, sport-casual and sneakers, boots and ankle boots, and sandals. Genuine leather uppers and genuine leather linings are standard; alternative linings can be developed when requested.

Can I send a reference or tech pack?

Yes. We can review photographs, a physical reference, an approved specification or a tech pack. Existing models can also be adapted by leather, colour, lining, sole and branding.

How do samples work?

Development review and R&D preparation are not charged. A physical reference should be sent only after our team confirms it is suitable for review. Samples requested from existing LUIMAS products are chargeable; courier costs belong to the buyer and the sample charge may be credited against a bulk order.

Can you use any requested logo?

No. The buyer must own the mark or provide formal evidence of the right to use and manufacture it. Third-party branding is not applied without documented authorisation.

Are private-label designs confidential?

Yes. Customer files and exclusive designs are confidential by default and are not shown under the LUIMAS name, on social media or at trade fairs without written permission. Territory or model exclusivity requires a separate agreement.

Who owns custom tooling?

For a custom last or sole, LUIMAS obtains stamped quotations from multiple suppliers. Cost sharing, ownership and permitted use are agreed in writing. A tool paid fully by the buyer remains dedicated to that buyer and can be stored at LUIMAS.

Quality & continuity

Control before and after shipment

What quality checks are standard?

Materials are checked at intake, production is monitored on line, the bulk order is compared with the approved sample and specification, and every pair receives a final inspection before packing.

Do you provide laboratory reports?

Independent laboratory testing is arranged when requested. A typical development uses one pair for the laboratory and one for the showroom. Results normally arrive in about five business days and remain valid for the approved model while its materials remain unchanged.

How are natural leather variations handled?

Minimal grain and tone variation is a natural leather characteristic. Bulk production is matched to the approved sample and leather reference. A material colour change is reported before production continues; without buyer approval, replacement material is sourced and the schedule is updated.

Is the ordered quantity delivered exactly?

Yes. LUIMAS does not apply a routine plus-or-minus production tolerance to the quantity shipped. The confirmed order quantity is delivered.

What happens if a manufacturing defect is confirmed?

Evidence is reviewed by photo or video and, when necessary, physical inspection. A verified LUIMAS fault may be replaced or credited against the next order. If there is no next order, the goods may be returned and the verified product and freight cost refunded.

How long are products supported?

Unused goods stored correctly remain covered for manufacturing defects for 12 months. Products used as intended remain covered for six months. Damage caused by misuse, unsuitable conditions or incorrect care is excluded.

Stock, storage & shipment

Built for planned B2B supply

Do you keep ready stock?

Orders are normally made to order and showroom pairs are not sales inventory. Strong leather and sole stocks support production, but availability is checked before confirmation. Rare cancelled-order or overproduction stock is announced through the LUIMAS WhatsApp channel on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Is storage available?

Orders of 1,000 pairs or more include three months of free storage after completion and ready-to-ship notice. After the free period, storage is charged by carton volume. LUIMAS remains responsible for the goods while they are stored in its warehouse.

Which delivery terms are available?

EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR, CIF, DAP and DDP can be evaluated according to the destination and project. All initial product prices are EXW; transport, insurance, duties and destination services are added according to the chosen term.

Is cargo insured?

When transport remains LUIMAS's responsibility, cargo insurance is mandatory and arranged by LUIMAS. Transport risk transfers according to the agreed Incoterms rule. This does not limit responsibility for a verified manufacturing defect.

Which export documents are supplied?

Our foreign-trade team prepares the applicable proforma and commercial invoice, packing and checking lists, certificate of origin, A.TR or EUR.1, customs and transport documents, and requested laboratory or QC records.

What should I do if freight damage is visible?

Record visible damage on the delivery document or carrier report and send photographs, video and carton labels without delay. Carrier or insurer notification deadlines apply; LUIMAS supports preparation of the claim file.
